I posted something very real the other day.
And immediately? I wanted to delete the whole thing.
Shut it down. Leave it behind.
I felt exposed. Embarrassed. Vulnerable.
Someone even asked if I was okay — and that almost made me spiral even further.
In the midst of all that, this question hit me hard:
“How do you know this is good?”
I wasn’t just asking about the post. I was asking about everything — my purpose, my work, my whole journey.
How do you really know if what you’re doing is on track?
And that’s when I heard something that shifted me:
“Erika, yes. This is good. And you know why? Because faith doesn’t always feel like fireworks. Sometimes, it feels like silence. Fear. And still choosing obedience, anyway.”
I sat with that.
Because let’s be honest: The moments when we obey God rarely feel powerful.
They feel confusing. Uncomfortable. Even lonely.
And sometimes — yes — it makes you look a little crazy.
And you know what?
That’s exactly how it’s supposed to feel.
On last weeks live prayer call, someone said:
“You have to be a little delusional to walk with God.”
And I haven’t stopped thinking about that.
Because they’re right.
The world sees “delusion.”
But Heaven sees faith.
Delusional faith will have you:
Leaving a stable job with no backup plan.
Starting a business with no followers.
Loving people who may never love you back.
Praying for a marriage that looks like it's over.
Believing for healing when doctors have given up.
Showing up when nothing is moving.
And the thing is — it won’t always look holy from the outside.
It won’t make sense to people who love safety more than surrender.
Obedience doesn’t perform for the crowd.
It follows the cloud.
Here’s what I’m learning — And what I want you to know, too:
Faith isn’t always a feeling.
You might think that when you’re on the right path, it should feel easy, or like everything just clicks. But that’s not always how it works. Sometimes, faith feels like a fight. It’s messy. And that’s okay. Don’t let the discomfort fool you into thinking you’re not on the right track.Growth doesn’t feel cute.
You’ve heard it before: growth is uncomfortable. If you’re feeling stretched, uncertain, or downright scared? You’re in the right place. That’s how you know you’re growing — not when everything feels good, but when it feels like something is happening. That’s the signal. Don’t shrink back just because it doesn’t feel safe.Obedience is your measuring stick, not results.
Here’s a hard truth: results are not your responsibility. Obedience is. Are you showing up even when it’s hard? Are you staying faithful when you don’t see the finish line yet? Keep your eyes on the obedience, not the outcome. Because the outcome? It’ll come. But it won’t show up until you’ve stayed consistent.Look at the fruit that’s already here.
I know you’re looking for a big breakthrough, but don’t overlook what’s already growing. Even in the small things, there’s progress. Books moving. Conversations happening. New opportunities popping up. Don’t ignore the fruit that’s already there just because it doesn’t look like a harvest yet.
Now, let’s get real for a second:
Was I asking the right question?
I know I’ve been so focused on asking, “Is this working?”
But the real question is, “Am I obeying?”
And today, the answer is yes. I’m obeying. Even when I don’t feel ready. Even when it doesn’t look perfect. Even when the fear tries to knock me down — I’m still showing up. And that’s what counts.
If your answer is yes, then keep going.
You’re not behind.
You’re in the deep.
And that’s where God does His best work.

Reflections for the week:
What’s something you’re wrestling with right now?
What’s one thing you could do today to move in obedience, even if it’s messy?
Drop it in the comments. Let’s walk this journey together — raw, real, and real-time.
Still in it. Still healing. Still surrendering.
