There’s a Reason You Feel This Way (But No One Talks About It)
The 4th One Might Be The Silent Killer Of Your Relationships
Hey Love,
Ever find yourself saying…
“I’m just… tired. But I don’t even know why.”
You got some sleep last night.
You lit your candle, turned on your playlist, maybe even journaled.
You’re not sick. Not grieving. Not even running on empty today.
And still — your soul feels heavy.
Your mind? Cloudy.
Your heart? Tired of fighting invisible battles.
You're showing up for everybody but yourself.
You’re doing “okay”… but deep down, you know you were made for more than just okay.
If that’s you, I want you to hear this loud and clear:
You’re not lazy.
You’re not broken.
You’re not failing.
You’re just carrying weight you were never meant to carry alone.
So many of us are walking around with spiritual fatigue that doesn’t show up on a calendar, a lab test, or a to-do list.
And I believe awareness is where your healing begins.
Here are 7 quiet reasons you might be feeling soul-tired — even when life looks “fine” on the outside:
1. You’re Hustling for Worthiness
Somewhere along the way, you were taught your value is tied to how productive, helpful, or strong you can be.
So now, even rest feels like a threat.
Even joy feels like something you have to earn.
But sis — God already said you are good.
Not “good when…” Not “good if…”
Just. Good.
You don’t have to earn God’s love. It’s already yours.
2. You’ve Lost Rhythm with God
You’ve been praying, sure.
But have you paused to receive?
To let God love on you without asking you to fix or do anything?
Stillness isn’t weakness.
It’s where you refill.
It’s where God whispers, “Come rest, daughter.”
3. You’re Living on Autopilot
You wake up, scroll, handle what needs to be done… but you haven’t truly been with yourself in weeks.
You’ve been moving, but not living.
Present, but not connected.
Checked in… but emotionally checked out.
That’s not God’s design.
You weren’t created to survive — you were called to thrive.
4. You’re Emotionally Backed Up
You’re holding grief.
Disappointment.
Comparison.
Rejection.
Maybe even bitterness.
But you’ve pushed it down, because you haven’t had the space to feel it safely.
Listen: God can handle your feelings.
You don’t have to fake strength with Him.
Your tears don’t scare Him — He collects them. (Psalm 56:8)
5. You’re Carrying a Lie That Sounds Like Truth
Maybe it’s:
“I should be further by now.”
“No one really sees me.”
“I always have to be the strong one.”
These sound true because they’ve been repeated, not because they’re real.
That inner critic?
That imposter syndrome?
That hyper-independence?
Those are old survival strategies.
They helped you once — but they can’t build the future God has for you.
6. You’re Isolated — But Still Surrounded
You’ve got followers, group chats, coworkers… but no one really knows the battle behind your smile.
Sis, your healing doesn’t need a crowd.
It needs community.
A sacred space where you don’t have to explain your pain.
Where your vulnerability is safe.
Where you can fall apart and still be held.
That’s the kind of space Root + River is becoming.
7. You Forgot That Wholeness Takes Time
You want to be healed now.
Confident now.
Purpose-driven yesterday.
But even Jesus spent 30 years in quiet preparation before His public ministry began.
So why do we expect ourselves to rush through pain in 30 days?
You’re not behind.
You’re becoming.
And becoming takes grace.
Here’s the Good News:
You don’t have to live soul-exhausted.
You don’t have to hustle your way into peace.
You don’t have to carry it all alone.
There’s a better way. A God-designed rhythm. A life marked not by burnout, but by renewed strength. A community of dads with the same passion, commitment, and most importantly, same God as you have.
“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” — Isaiah 40:31 (NLT)
This Week’s Challenge:
Don’t fix everything.
Don’t overhaul your life.
Just take 10 quiet minutes with God.
No phone. No music. Just stillness.
Ask Him:
“Which of these am I carrying?”
Then listen.
And let Him carry it with you.
